American Cancer Society

Lifeline Transportation Program makes transportation to and from treatment more accessible to cancer patients. Cancer patients and their families can call the American Cancer Society and speak to a cancer information specialist about their diagnosis, treatment and needs. If transportation is identified as a need and the patient is eligible for the service, the counselor works through the Lifeline Transportation Program to coordinate transportation to and from cancer treatment appointments. A patient services representative then follows up with patients to assess their personal experience and match additional needs with appropriate resources.
