The Nashville Housing Fund is a non-profit organization "established to finance affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization projects throughout Middle Tennessee."

Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity provides housing opportunities for low-income families. A typical family earns approximately $1,000-$1,500 per month, and has an average family size of 4 to 5 persons.
Habitat offers zero-interest, long-term loans to their homeowners. A family must be able to meet the financial obligations for owning a house, and must attend various financial management and home maintenance workshops. Additionally, the family must complete up to 425 hours of work on their home, or on other Habitat projects.

MDHA Public Housing
The Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency exists to serve citizens of Nashville "by providing affordable housing opportunities in a safe environment, and to revitalize and maintain neighborhoods and a strong urban core." Includes information regarding project-based developments for families, and the elderly and disabled.
MDHA Section 8 Rental Assistance
MDHA's Rental Assistance Department administers the Section 8 federally funded rent supplement programs designed to help families find safe and sanitary housing in the private market and to help those families with the cost of rent and utilities.

Urban Housing Solutions
"Urban Housing Solutions, Inc. was founded in 1991 with one goal in mind—to provide decent, affordable housing for residents of Nashville."
Urban Housing Solutions primarily houses individuals and families with low-to-moderate incomes, those who are recently homeless, the mentally ill and physically disabled, and people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Their housing is permanent—there are no time limits on how long a person may live at one of the properties.
